ABOUT

After years of working in the property management industry, Chalet Sturgeon wanted to turn her passion for wine into a new career. Through working at different wineries in Berrien County, traveling to vineyards around the Great Lakes State, and researching the best Michigan spirits, she dreamed of opening an exciting, new kind of tasting room with good friend, Jayme Neumann. Jayme's years of winery experience coupled with her keen consumer insight made for the ideal sidekick.

Together the pair imagined a place for guests to experience many different Michigan-made wines, beers, ciders, and craft cocktails under one roof. In 2021, Local Pour found a home in the beautiful community of Sawyer, Michigan in the heart of Harbor Country.

Today, Local Pour gives everyone “a seat at the table” to taste, learn, and laugh while celebrating Michigan’s spirited bounty.

Traditionally, a tasting room is a part of a winery, brewery, or distillery and is located on the premises of the production facility, making it easy for guests to sample the selection.

But at Local Pour, we make it even easier for guests to taste a variety of different wines, beers, ciders, and spirits from the best Michigan makers all under one roof.

What is a tasting room?

Local Pour is a different kind of tasting room, one that provides people the unique opportunity to discover an assortment of Michigan wines with the guidance of friendly, educated hosts. We also serve craft beers, ciders, and cocktails from the best Michigan makers. Thanks to our incredible partnerships, we’re thrilled to offer guests a menu that changes frequently to keep people coming back for more!
